With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hazel Lee Powell of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 2, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Goforth and Rita Barnette Goforth; her siblings, Lucille Goforth Jones, Aletta Goforth Grayson, Melba J. Goforth, Robert Goforth, Raynard Goforth, Merle Goforth and Allie B. Goforth; and her cousin Barbara Goforth Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna Powell Taylor of North Wilkesboro; her grandson Mark Christopher Taylor of Laurel Springs; her sisters-in-law, Zelma Goforth and Doris Goforth; her nieces and nephews, Frances, Milton Goforth, Diane Patrum, Darlene Smithey, Randy Goforth and Mitchell Goforth; and her children, P. O. Box, Humane Society of Wilkes, P. O and Box. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
