He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Sharpe and Larry Cicero Brookshire; his wife Lucille Alice Woodruff Brookshire; and his siblings, Sydney Clayton Brookshire, Jack Dempsey Brookshire, William Alley Brookshire, Peggy Juanita Quick and Lorene Billings.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Brookshire Pardue (Frank Pardue) and Atwell Jerome Brookshire (Karen Brookshire); and his sister Brenda Rae Brooks.
