She was predeceased by: her father William Hosea Wayman; her former husband Thomas Walter Worth Howell; her husband Frank Benson Heafner of Crouse, NC.; and her sisters, Dorothy Ingold and Mary Jo Gentry.
She is survived by: her children, Tommy (Kathy) of West Jefferson, Billy Howell (Mary) of West Jefferson and Carol Howell Hartsoe (Steve) of North Wilkesboro; her sister Peggy Oliver of Winston Salem; her grandchildren, Travis Howell (Leigh) of Winston Salem, Kristie Brooks (Jamie) of Colorado, Stephanie Jones of North Wilkesboro and Jason Hartsoe of North Wilkesboro; her great grandchildren, John, David, Andrew Howell, William, Matthew Brooks and Hunter Jones; and her niece Victoria Oliver. She is also survived by children and grandchildren, and friends.
