He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Jordan and Lessie Mae Lamb Jordan; his wife Margaret Cummings Jordan; and his son Ray Jordan. He is survived by: his children, Philip Jordan (Sonya) of North Wilkesboro, Roy Jordan (Susan) of North Wilkesboro and Belinda Gail Brewer (Billy) of North Wilkesboro; and his sisters, Shirley Williams of Elm City, NC, Janice Glover of Elm City, NC and Carol Ogeary of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren.
