He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Cavnis and Hazel Phillips Parsons of Virginia; and his sister Mary Royal. He is survived by: his sisters, Margaret Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Martha Anderson (Gwyn) of Wilkesboro, Madelene Johnson (Gary) of Wilkesboro and Mildred Brooks of Millers Creek; his niece Carol Bumgarner; and his nephews, Mike Blackburn, Jeff Anderson, Allan Royal and Marty Parsons.
