Jeff Bergman wrote a sympathy message

“Im so sorry for your family's loss. As you all know Bertha was a wonderful, giving woman. Always cherished simple small messages like visits, phone calls or letters. She was the only beacon for my family when I managed the JC Penney store in 1999-2001. She took care of my two small children as well. Always thought of the store. She will be missed by one and all. My deepest sympathies”

Jeff Bergman wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry to have heard of the passing of Bertha Bentley. She was such a dear sweet woman who went out of her way to welcome me and my family (with 2 small kids at the time) to the JC Penney store in Wilkesboro. back in 1999. I remember her spinning my 2 year old daughter in one of the office chairs in the backroom. She was a very hard worker always thinking of the store. She was instrumental getting store 2054 to be the ONLY North Carolina store to win the 2000 Chairmans award. So sad”
