He was predeceased by: his parents, Elasta Smith and Rosalie T. Smith; and his siblings, D. C. Smith, Gary Smith, Anthony Smith and Judy Smith Mobley.

He is survived by: his children, Lee Smith (Penny) of Newton Grove, Doug Smith of Newton Grove, Neil Smith (Maria) of Newton Grove and Amy Johnson (Roy, Jr.) of Meadow; his grandchildren, Crystal Jordan (James), Elise Childers (Eric), Ashley Tart (Ryker), McKenna Smith, Royce Johnson, Amanda Smith, Tori J. Daughtry (Nick) and Tripp Johnson; his great grandchildren, Brandon Jordan, Warren Jordan and Rhett Childers; his siblings, Cody Smith (Natalie) and Cecelia Warren (Mike); and his siblings-in-law, Lynn Mobley, Sammy Giddens (Nida), Sue Smith and Susan Williford (Ricky).
