She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Thomas Wise Sr. and Ruth Benfield Wise; and her brother Robert Thomas Wise Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Shufford Carpenter; her children, Jackie Carpenter Johnson of Newland and Mike Carpenter (Dawn) of Newland; her grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Elijah Carpenter and Gus Carpenter; and her sisters, Tommie Wise Richardson of Newland and Debbie Wise Dotson (Jerry) of Boone.
