He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Franklin and Ruth Church Franklin; and his wife Mary Ford Franklin. He is survived by: his children, Alton Franklin (Carolyn Sakowski) of Winston-Salem, NC, Gail Franklin of Winston Salem, NC and Janet Wolfe (Mark) of Newland, NC; and his grandchildren, Maggie Wolfe of Charlotte, NC and Justin Wolfe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aaron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 266, Montezuma, N.C. 28653.
