He was predeceased by: his parents, McDonald Parsons and Betty Dellinger Parsons; his brother Gary Parsons; his grandparents, Mack, Vivian Dellinger, Keener and America Parsons; his stepmother Marilyn Buchanan Parsons; and his brother-in-law Carmen Willis.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn DeGroat Parsons; his daughters, Leslie Pollard (Jeffery) of Newland, Ashley Carpenter (Jeremy) of Newland and Alyssa Parsons; his grandchildren, Griffin, Annie, Lola Pollard, Claire and Hadley Carpenter; his aunts, Carol Jean Carpenter and Mentha Ann McFee; and his sister-in-law Geri Willis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital, that held a special place in his heart.
