Lloyd Wallace Nixon Obituary
Lloyd W. Nixon, lovingly known as Buck, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 77 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA. He was born on April 22, 1946 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Walter Nixon and Margaret Morris Nixon.
Buck dedicated his life to working as a Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Equipment. His expertise in this field earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients. In his downtime, he was an avid fisherman.
Buck will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Lloyd Wallace "Bucky" Nixon, Jr. (Spring), Michael Wayne Nixon, and Jeremy Walter Nixon (Ashley), all hailing from Moyock, NC.
In addition, Buck leaves behind two sisters, Mary "Nickie" Green of Elizabeth City, NC, and Sarah Nixon of Hampton, VA. He is also survived by his friend and companion, Dianne Hughes.
His wife, Mary Jane Hill Nixon and his brothers, Walter Ray Nixon and James L. Nixon, preceded him in death.
Buck's legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren: Dustin Nixon (Sarah), Austin Nixon, Hunter Nixon, Raina Twine, and Maggie Nixon. He was looking forward with anticipation to welcoming his great-granddaughter, Maelynn Leigh Nixon.
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Twiford Memorial Chapel. Reverend Frank Thigpen will officiate the service. Following the service, the family will receive visitors at the funeral home. Lastly, Buck will be laid to rest in Moyock Cemetery.
During this difficult time, let us remember and honor Buck for the remarkable life he lived. His presence will forever be missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those whose lives he touched. The service will be live streamed.
