He was predeceased by: his son Stuart Kyle Grady; his parents, James E. "Jim" Grady and Mildred Summerlin Grady; his brothers, James Earl Grady, Bennie Grady and Dwight Grady; and his father-in-law George Marvin Cotton.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Cotton Grady; his son Stephen C. Grady, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Lauren Murphy Grady of Kenansville; his granddaughter Savannah Grace Grady; his brother Jerry; his siblings-in-law, Billie Carole C. Grady of Mount Olive, Brenda W. Grady of Waynesville, Michelle T. Grady of Faison, Jane Cotton Hedrick (Dale) of Mount Olive and Buck Cotton (Vicky B. Cotton) of Mount Olive; and his mother-in-law Zadie Knowles Cotton of Calypso. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
