He is survived by: his wife Norma Carole Summerlin McDonald; his sons, Irvin Ray McDonald, Jr. (Maria) of Mount Olive and William Michael Lee McDonald (Dawn) of Goldsboro; his granddaughter Mollie Catherine McDonald Moser (Ellis Moser) of Raleigh; his sons, Lee McDonald of Wilmington and Will McDonald of Goldsboro; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. Daniel Clayton "D. C." Summerlin and Suzi Summerlin of Roanoke.
