She was predeceased by: her husband William Harris "Bill" Smith; and her siblings, Lena Smith, Violette Phillips and Donnell E. Kornegay, Sr. (Smith). She is survived by: her daughters, Caroline Smith Phillips (Sidney Warren Phillips), Cynthia Smith Parker of Hampstead and Melody Smith Wilson (Michael David Wilson) of Wilmington; and her grandchildren, Dr. Sidney Warren Phillips Jr. (Whitney Scott Phillips) of Wilmington, Lesley Parker Richardson (Christopher Todd Richardson) of Hampstead, Elizabeth Phillips Carroll (Daniel John Carroll) of Raleigh, Dr. Graham Harris Wilson (Hallie Coleman Wilson) of Wilmington and Dr. Michael Cliff Wilson (Erica Collier Wilson) of Holly Springs. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
