She was predeceased by: her husband David Burval Whitfield; her parents, Elmer Swinson and Edna Grice Swinson; and her brother Bruce Swinson. She is survived by: her brothers, Jimmy Swinson of Mount Olive, Donald Swinson of Richlands and Clayton Swinson of Mount Olive; and her siblings-in-law, Jimmy and Regenia Whitfield of Goldsboro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
