He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Washington and Pearl Gammons Kirkman; his wife Treva Brown Kirkman; his son Benston Franklin "Benny" Kirkman, Jr.; his great grandchild Tyson Bracky Rogers; and his siblings, Dessie Doss, Nettie Kirkman, Gurney Kirkman, Paul Kirkman, Lawrence Simmons and Burnie Kirkman.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa; his granddaughters, Breann (Jacob Wyse) of Pilot Mountain and Britni (Dustin Rogers) of Mount Airy; his great grandchildren, Kenedi Blaire Rogers, Reece McKinley Wyse, Presley Shea Wyse, Hudson Bracky Rogers, Kenston Wade Rogers and Wyatt Lane Rogers; and his sister Nina Murphy of Mount Holly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
