She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Taylor Crawford and Elisabeth Fore Crawford; her husband Samuel J. Ervin, III; her brother Robert Taylor Crawford; and her parents-in-law, Sam J. Ervin, Jr. and Margaret Bell Ervin.
She is survived by: her pets, Poppy and Sadie; her children, Samuel James Ervin, IV (Mary), Elisabeth Fore Ervin (Ken Razza), Robert Crawford Ervin (Dana) and Margaret Ervin Bruder (Joachim); her grandchildren, Davin Patrick Coutu, Kelly Stephen Coutu (Amanda), Samuel James Ervin, Michael Worth Ervin, Cameron Ervin of Virginia, Caroline Elisabeth Ervin, Valentin Joachim Bruder and Samuel Wilson Bruder; and her great grandchildren, Elise Madeline Coutu and Cedar Everett Ervin.
