We are sad to announce that on March 30, 2019, at the age of 89, Susan Gardner Oettinger (Morehead City, North Carolina), born in Jacksonville, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Leonard Lee Oettinger, Jr.; her son Leonard Lee Oettinger, III; and her grandson Stephen Copeland Smith. She is survived by: her children, Robert Copeland Oettinger of Raleigh and Sallie Oettinger Smith of Morehead City; her grandchildren, Susan Gardner Smith, Gunnar Glenn Smith of Morehead City, John Bailey Oettinger (Elizabeth) of Southern Pines and Jessica Oettinger Wilder (William) of Kinston; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Kirven Oettinger, Leonard Lee Oettinger, IV, William Nelson Wilder, III and Chandler Wells Wilder; and her brother Francis Sidney Gardner, Jr. (Ming) of Fayetteville. She is also survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.
