She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee S. Chavis and Alice Lambert Chavis; and her son Earlie Neal Jones Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Frederick Coverdale; her children, Donna Jones Locklear of Lumberton and Joseph Lee Jones of Greensboro; and her siblings, Lee S. Chavis Jr., Jimmy D. Chavis, Wayne S. Chavis, Mike Chavis, Ava Lynn Scott and Alice Locklear. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
