With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Gaskill Basnight (Manteo, North Carolina), who passed away on July 2, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Davis Gaskill and James Gaskill; her husband Steve Jr.; and her siblings, Tena Gaskill Sawyer and James Lee Gaskill.

She is survived by: her sons, Stephen G. Basnight III (Ashley) and Hugh T. Basnight (Vanessa); and her grandchildren, Josh, Cole, Sara, Anna, Andrew and Rebecca. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Steve Basnight Jr. Scholarship Fund at Bethany United Methodist Church in Wanchese, NC.
