He is survived by: his wife Sara Helms Tester; his sons, James Tester, Jr. (Melissa) of Maiden and David Tester of Oklahoma; and his siblings, Richard Tester of Conover, Johnny Tester of Conover, Peggy Stanley of Asheboro, Carolyn McCann of Hiddenite, Alice Hoyle of Conover and Joyce Presnell of Vale.
