He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Tate Sr. (Biggen) and Sue Ellen Gobble (Susie); his grandparents, Howard Roy, Hazel Tate, Dotsy Gobble Gragg and Malcolm Gobble; his nephew Isaac Tate; his aunt Rebecca Tate Dilldine (Becky); and his uncles, Orville Dilldine and James Tate.
He is survived by: his siblings, Christopher Wayne Tate of Sophia and Angela Tate Wilson of Sophia; his uncles, Willie Ray Tate of Sophia and Wiley Gobble; his aunt Mary Gobble Freeze; his nieces and nephews, Tabitha Wilson of Asheboro, Amanda Wilson of Sophia, Christian Wilson (Tearstin) of Sophia and Wesley Tate (Rachel) of Madison; his great-niece Hailey Tate of Madison; his great-nephews, Kaleb Wilson, Bryan Hedrick of Asheboro, River Wilson of Sophia, Wyatt Tate of Madison, Darrell Wilson, Ray and Elijah Bailey; and his uncle Bill Bill.
