She was predeceased by: her parents, James Riley Oxendine and Christian Graham Oxendine; her siblings, Fred Lowry, Homer Oxendine, Clenard "Buster" Oxendine, John "Buddy" Oxendine, Columbus Oxendine, Riley "Monny" Oxendine, Will, Tom Graham, Lillian Oxendine Ransom, Fonnie Oxendine, Julia Rivenbark and Ethel Oxendine; and her son L. V. Oxendine.
She is survived by: her sons, Ray James Oxendine and Donald Oxendine; her grandchildren, Jodi Petitt, Heather Rose Gray, Dominick Oxendine (Heather), Malcolm Oxendine, Kelvin Ray Oxendine (Elizabeth), Shonda Oxendine, Nicholas Oxendine and Taylor Oxendine; and her great grandchildren, Steven Gray, Carson Gray, Jozilynn Oxendine, Jeremiah Oxendine, Jeremiah B. Oxendine, Elijah Oxendine, Kolton Oxendine, Mason Simpson, Angel Oxendine and Katoreh Oxendine.
In lieu of flowers, Ms. Purnell's family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
