She was predeceased by: her father John Luther; and her husband Major Thomas Denton. She is survived by: her daughter Karen Ann Denton Mitchell of Charlotte; her granddaughter Michele Mitchell of New York City; her sisters, Lois King of Louisburg and Linda Rich of Castalia; her foster daughter Camille Blommer; and her close friends, Julie Dalton Loos and Jane Dalton Currin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
