He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Furman Martin, Sr. and Josephine Jones Martin; his wife Judy Nolen Martin; and his sisters, Mary Spake and Sylvia Harwood.
He is survived by: his son Scott Martin (Trudy) of Gastonia; his brothers, Bill Martin of Blacksburg, SC and Tony Martin (Dianne) of Mt. Holly; and his stepchildren, Doug Ratteerree of Charlotte, Tim Ratteerree (Susan) of Gastonia and Kim Hudson (Jerry) of Lincolnton. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
