He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeb Johnson and Ola Poole Johnson; his wife Norma Patterson Johnson; and his brothers, Jimmie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Charles Johnson, Morris Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Little Darlin.
He is survived by: his son Jody Johnson; and his sisters, Louise Johnson Yandle of Lincolnton, Marie Johnson Avery of Lincolnton and Shirlene Johnson Hartis (Roy) of Charlotte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
