With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Jesse Edsel of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on February 26, 2022 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edsel and Eunice Anderson Edsel; and his brother Gary Edsel. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Harris Edsel; his stepson Ronnie Eldreth (Kelly) of Lenoir; his daughter April Shumate (Gary); his siblings, Danny Edsel (Joyce) of Wilkes, Johnny Edsel (Sylvia) of Hickory, Sandra Elledge of Wilkes and Brenda Barlow (Terry) of Wilkes; and his grandchildren, Lea Eldreth of Wilkesboro, Amity Eldreth of Lenoir, Jessica White of Lenoir, Kelsey Perry of Granite Falls and Joseph Persinger of Lenoir. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
