With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Alice Carlton Ferguson of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on March 16, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Worth Carlton and Mary Ella Barnes Carlton; her husband John Henry Ferguson Jr.; and her siblings, Allen Carlton, Charles Edward Carlton, Daniel "Buster" Carlton, Richard "Richie" Carlton, Sadie Carlton, Maggie Sue Barnes and Clare Jean Tugman.

She is survived by: her children, Katina Ferguson (David Taylor) of Lenoir, Lewis Ferguson (Andrea) of Lenoir, James Ferguson of Lenoir and Jeffrey Ferguson (Anna) of Lenoir; her siblings, Namon Carlton (Emma Rose) of Shelby, NC, Harrison Carlton (Nancy) of Winston-Salem, NC, Douglas Carlton of Boomer, NC, Gozeal Ferguson of Wilkesboro, Kaye Carlton of Boomer, NC and Marcella Howell of Boomer, NC; and her grandchildren, Ja Queisha Gray, Shayla Ferguson, Alryic Rich, Ronovan Ferguson, Cameron Perkins and Devin Pennell. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
