He was predeceased by: his parents, Larkin Horton and Effie Horton; and his sisters, Deloris Jackson, Vera Myers and Gladys Bowers.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Horton; his sons, Larkin "Kin" Horton, III (Cynthia) and Greg Horton; his grandsons, Larkin Tyler Horton, James Durant Horton and Mitchell Gregory Horton; and his sisters, Virginia Coverson and Mary Jean Dula. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
