He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barrett and Carole Barrett; his siblings, Jesse Barrett, Jimmy Barrett and Eunice McWaters; and his niece Misty Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Barrett of Caldwell County; his daughters, Emma Cornett (Brandon) and Kim Felch (Austin); his stepson Cody Shepherd; his grandchildren, Mailynn, Memphis, Montgomry and Mayson Cornett; and his sisters, Brenda Blankenship (Tim) and Renee Hayes.
