It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herschel Kirby (Lenoir, North Carolina), who passed away on January 28, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Shuford Kirby and Vera Kirby; his wife Inez Kirby; and his sister Betty Sue Kincaid. He is survived by: his daughter Tammy K. Malcolm (Jim) of Hickory; his caregivers, Linda and Bradley McCall of Lenoir; and his siblings, Virgie Sorrel of Asheville, Wilma Crotts of Lenoir and Dwane Kirby of Lenoir.
Due to Covid-19, the funeral will consist of a church service Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Flemings Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend David Payne officiating. The family respectfully requests that social distancing guidelines be observed as well as masks be worn.
