She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Felder and Viola Estes Thomas; her husband Harold Leon Horton Sr.; her sons, Clarence, Charles, Clyde and Robert Ivan Horton; her brother William Thomas; her grandparents, Zula Estes, Will Bowers, Qumiller Felder and Hillard Felder; and her grandsons, Deon, Leon Horton and Dustin Tevin Horton.

She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Gaye Horton of Lenoir, Brenda Lee Horton Johnson (Willie) of Boone, Harold Leon Horton Jr. (Dwenda), Elizabeth Qumiller Horton of Lenoir and Roy DeFern Horton of Charlotte; and her siblings, Samuel Felder Sr. of Lenoir and Zula Felder Coles of Morganton. She is also survived by 13 nephews, 10 nieces; 13 great grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.
