It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clara Mae Horton Reid of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on March 5, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Moore and Martha Horton Davenport; her grandparents, Arthur and Meta Horton; her son Robert C. Reid; and her siblings, Samuel Horton, Carl Moore Jr., Johnny Davenport, Frank Davenport, Willard Davenport and Kaye Davenport Fairley.

She is survived by: her husband Samuel Reid; her children, Marshall Reid of Lenoir and Cherry Reid Dula (Garry) of Lenoir; her sisters, Mary Bray of Georgia, Sylvia Holliday of South Carolina, Meta Byrd of South Carolina and Larene Ledbetter of South Carolina; her sister-in-law Lee Moore of New Jersey; and her close friends, Doris Watson and Joyce Younce. She is also survived by three grandsons; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
