She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edgar and Satie Hunt Broyhill; her husbands, William E. Stevens, Jr. and Robert E. Heilman; and her siblings, Paul H. Broyhill (Faye) and Bettie Broyhill Gortner (Will).
She is survived by: her brother James T. Broyhill (Louise); and her children, Bill Stevens (Cary), Becca Elliott (Jim), Martha Sutton (Charles), Johnny Stevens (Samantha), Anne Hsu (Joe) and Richard Stevens (Debbie). She is also survived by her children and Bob's children.
It is heartbreaking to the family that Allene's celebration of life will be a private graveside gathering of her children and grandchildren due to COVID-19, yet they are uplifted knowing that many will celebrate her extraordinary life in their hearts.
The family respectfully suggests that instead of flowers, memorials be made to: The Caldwell Arts Council, 601 College Avenue, SW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or First United Methodist Church General Fund, 309 Church Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or the charity of one's choice.
