He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin C. Bowen and Dora Townsend Bowen; his stepmother Sylvia Bowen; and his aunt Georgia Rogers. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Wilson Bowen; his son Bradley Bowen (Hope) of Lenoir; his siblings, Bob Bowen (Debbie) of Virginia, Wyatt Bowen (Anita) of Virginia, Thomas Bowen (Amy) of Virginia, Mary Jane Carter of Virginia and Rose Miller (Troy) of Virginia; his stepgrandchildren, Brittany Whisnant, Cori Whisnant and Shay Whisnant; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Paisley, Audria, Zayden and Waylon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
