He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Lee and Daisy Sams; and his siblings, Ernest, Bill, Jim and Margaret Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita of Leicester; his children, Dennis Sams (Karen) of Leicester and Karen Webb (Ray Dean) of Marshall; and his sisters, Hilda Brannon of Hickory and Norma Jones of Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and a future great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
