He was predeceased by: his parents, Magaline Medlin and Robert Milligan; his siblings, James Earl "Pete" Medlin and Ellen McLean; and his brother-in-law Shelton Gibson.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Nicholson; his sisters, Trudy Wilkins (Mark) of Gibson, NC and Elease Gibson of Gibson, NC; and his granddaughters, Bridget and Victoria Nicholson.
