She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Dexter Caswell Coleman; her parents, Homer Edger Chesser, Sr. and Katherine Bethea Chesser; and her niece Heather Shaw. She is survived by: her children, Angela McClain (Robbie) of Piedmont, SC and Charles Coleman (Frankie) of Lake Waccamaw, NC; her brother Homer Chesser, Jr. (Donna) of Wilmington, NC; her brother-in-law Kenneth Coleman (Catherine) of Roseboro, NC.; her great grandchildren, Jesse and Arya Blanton; and her nieces and nephews, Betsy Knox, Spencer, Alex, Lee Coleman and Katie Coleman Polglaze.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be given to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) or the North Carolina Garden Club (gardenclubofnc.org).
