He was predeceased by: his father John Clifton Duke, Jr.; and his siblings, Carolyn Duke and Johnny Rutherford. He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Rountree Duke; his daughter Ruby Lucile "Lucy" Duke; the mother of his child Lisa Carol Mathews; his stepdaughter Jeanie Elizabeth Shults of Bella Vista, AR; his siblings, Susan Duke Lawrence (Nathan) of Asheville, NC, Robert Rutherford (Kelly) of Chesapeake, VA, James Rutherford, Denise Thomas of Portsmouth, VA and Angela Clayman of Abington, VA.; his nieces and nephews, Gage Stephen Lawrence, Ashley Pope (Josh) and Zachary Rutherford (Victoria); his extended family Richard Rountree (Marguerite) of Newport News, VA; his cousins, Marie Gerni (Chris) of Savannah, GA and Richard Rountree (Amy) of Grafton, VA.; and his friend Jeff Jones.
