He was predeceased by: his wife Sybil Outlaw Pate; his son Gregory Willoughby; his parents, Isler Pate and Rosia Pate; and his siblings, Rodney, Sammy Pate, Mary Taylor, Belle Herring, Rachel Driver, Grace Anderson and Helen Driver.
He is survived by: his children, Gail W. Langston (William) and Gary Willoughby (Donna); his sister Joyce Mozingo; his grandchildren, Justin Willoughby (Pam), Kayla Streeter (John), Jamie L. Barnett, Jonathan Willoughby and Jodi Taylor (Cecil); and his daughter-in-law Lynn Peterson. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
