It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernon Lee Orton (Kannapolis, North Carolina), born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, who passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Orton and Louise Orton; and his sisters, Betty and Vicki. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Orton; his children, Ron Kettle, Missy Laster (Kris), Jennifer Griffith (Chris) and Curtis Stone (Karliana); his grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Katarina, Marissa, Mitchel, Alexis, Niena, Morgan, Kyle, Tommy, Kaden and Kody; and his brothers, Kim Orton (Candy) and Duane Orton. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
