He was predeceased by: his parents, William Snipes and Virginia Ethel Norwood (Wortham); his daughter Linda Leigh Norwood-Hart; his brother William S. Norwood (Helen); and his brother-in-law Jerry H. Hurst (Amy).
He is survived by: his wife Linda Joyce Hurst; his daughters, Gina Norwood Smith (Dale R. Flackett) of Greenville, SC and Ashley Norwood Johnson of Concord; his granddaughter Elizabeth Kennedy Smith; his sister Carol Thomas (Robert); and his sister-in-law Diane H. Jones (Robert). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
