She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabel Smith Gwaltney and Clay Gwaltney; her children, Ann and Eric; and her siblings, Jean Gwaltney Drayton of Colorado and Harold Gwaltney of Georgia.
She is survived by: her former husband Bill Helton of Concord, N. C.; her son Billy (Del) of Durham, N. C.; her sister Elizabeth Gwaltney Barley of South Carolina; and her friends, Statesville, Steve Critz, Suzy Kerley, Carolyn Sharp, Anita Waugh, Nancy Wilson (Mooresville) and Carolyn Campbell.
