He was predeceased by: his father Gurney Ray Pierce. He is survived by: his mother Lois F. Pierce; and his siblings, Gladys Bray (Larry) of Ramseur, Karen Lowe of Liberty, Myrtle Griffin of Greensboro and Dallas Pierce of Liberty.
