She was predeceased by: her parents, Carroll Shelton and Ila Shelton; her husband Aaron "Hess" Hester; her son Donald "Donny" Grogan; and her siblings, Wallace, Mack, Marvin Shelton, Dixie Gregory, Beatrice Shelton and Vivian Shelton.

She is survived by: her children, Raymond Grogan of St. Augustine, FL, Steve Grogan (Jenna) of Randleman and Lisa Spiker (Rich) of Oak Ridge; her sister Nellie Carter (Richard) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Ray Grogan (Jessie) of Niceville, FL, Jared Grogan (Julene) of Omaha, NE, Sarah Dorr (Kyle) of Greensboro and Catherine Spiker of Charlotte; and her great grandchildren, Cameron, Alyssa, Wyatt and Maia Grogan. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
