It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne Alford Claffey (Jamestown, North Carolina), born in Wendell, North Carolina, who passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Alford and Libby Batten Alford. She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Claffey; her sister Willie Alford Currin of Raleigh, NC; and her daughters, Debbie Poland (Stuart) of Liberty, NC and Jeanne Brown (Eddie) of Greensboro, NC.. She is also survived by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gate City Baptist Church.
