With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janice A. Capes of Jamestown, North Carolina, born in Elm City, North Carolina, who passed away on June 15, 2023 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janice A. Capes to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Lee Capes; her parents, Don Beaman and Sallie Beaman; and her siblings, Ruby, Edwin, Leora, Laura, Lula, Dorothy, Geneva, Arthur, Jean and Shirley.

She is survived by: her sister Faye; her children, Rose Shown, Lori Kittle (Jeff), June Gleason (Chris) and Barry Capes (Kelli); her grandchildren, Ethan (Shannon), Emily (Alan), Ellie (Robert), Dustin (Joella), Connor, Dillon, Seth and Ashlea; and her niece Lois Knox. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to, Communication Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (CSDHH) a non-profit organization in Greensboro.
