She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Wade and Evelyn Gladys Osborne Slack; her son Gerald "Jerry" L. Wheat, Jr.; and her brother Donald Slack. She is survived by: her husband Gerald Lee Wheat; her daughter Lisa Walters (David) of Jamestown; and her siblings, Glenda Dennis of High Point and Allen Slack (Barbara "Barb). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
