He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Wilkins and Thedis Wilkins; and his daughter Carol. He is survived by: his son Rod Locklear (Kelly) of Huntersville; his brother Craig Wilkins; his grandchildren, Sierra, Noah, Madison and Jonathon; and his great grandchildren, Maisie and Jase.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the James Funeral Home (10520 Arahova Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078).
