He was predeceased by: his father Zeb Vance Chester; and his sister Teresa Ann Chester. He is survived by: his mother Frances Cardwell Chester of Lenoir; his wife Phyllis Mitchell Chester; his sons, Daniel Steven Chester (Kristy) of Granite Falls and Phillip Scott Chester (Lesly) of Candler, NC; his brothers, Jeffrey Chester (Cheryl) of Lenoir and Tony Chester (Ragena) of Lenoir; and his grandchildren, Grayson Chester and Etta Chester. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
